Dear customers,

We hope you're staying cheerful this fall 😃! PIMSIE is committed to producing drinks good for your health, so we're deeply concerned about the recent discovery of PFAS in our water.

The PFAS Scandal in Belgian Tap Water

Belgium has been shaken by the revelation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in tap water. These persistent and harmful chemicals can contaminate water, soil, and even the air, posing developmental problems, hormonal disorders, and increased cancer risks. PFAS is just the tip of the iceberg 🥺 in a myriad of disruptive substances.

We understand the concern; we aim to inform you and help minimize your exposure to PFAS and other contaminants.

Dangers of Pesticides and Contaminants in Plastic Bottles

In addition to PFAS, plastic bottles may contain pesticides and other contaminants. When exposed to heat, light, or time, these substances can migrate into drinks, posing potential health risks.

How to Avoid PFAS and Contaminant Exposure

  • Choose glass bottles 👌: Glass is a safe alternative to plastics, as it doesn't interact with the content or release unwanted substances.
  • Filter your water 💧: Invest in a quality water filter to reduce contaminants, specifically targeting PFAS. PIMSIE has recently invested in a highly recommended Berkey filter.
  • Avoid using plastic containers for food storage, especially when heated. Opt for glass or stainless steel containers.
  • Choose organic products 🌱: Organic fruits and vegetables are less likely to contain pesticide residues. PIMSIE presses only selected organic fruits and vegetables for your health.
  • Before consuming even organic fruits and vegetables, soak them in water with a little apple cider vinegar. Use 10 cl of vinegar for 90 cl of clear water. Let the fruits and vegetables soak for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables 🍏🥕🥦 to boost your health and immune defenses. Besides protecting against contaminants, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can enhance overall health and strengthen your immune system.
  • Stay informed 🤓: Stay updated on water quality and packaging material issues. Be proactive in seeking sustainable solutions. A recommended site: by the Scientific Society of General Medicine.
